The closer we got to Bodie’s door, the more nervous I’d become.

Dinner was great and I’d gotten all my shopping done, except for one thing I couldn’t do with Bodie around, so I’d enlisted Jurnee’s help on that one. I was excited for Christmas, especially for Peyton and Piper to see one of the gifts I got them.

And now we were exactly at the part of the day I had craved to be, but as we walked hand in hand and the time had finally arrived, my insides felt scrambled. I was panicking for the second time that day.

I told myself it was okay to be scared. I’d waited twenty-two years for this moment and it was another first for me. But what if I was horrible at sex? What if I didn’t turn Bodie on? Or what if after, I wasn’t what he wanted anymore?

Mentally shaking myself, I tried to shove my worries aside and calm my nervous energy. I couldn’t predict what would happen after and I wasn’t willing to not take the chance. Besides, Bodie looked turned on and satisfied in the shower this morning and I didn’t know what I was doing then. Yet it was a phenomenal moment.

Bodie and I had chemistry. Right from the start. There was no way it could be awful. Right?

“Stop fretting and thinking so hard sweetheart,” Bodie said, giving my hand a gentle squeeze as we reached his door. He stopped, causing me to stop, and lifted my chin. “Nothing happens that you don’t want to happen. I’ll wait for you as long as you need me to, love.”

And that was the kind of man Bodie was.

“Thank you,” I whispered, going up on my toes and kissing him lightly on his lips before dropping back down to the ground. “Let's go inside.”

Bodie unlocked the door and we shuffled in, then he closed the door behind us. I kicked off my shoes and yanked my socks off before he pulled me close to him. I breathed him in and the smell of him calmed me. We stayed that way for a few minutes before I placed my hands on his chest and pushed him back.

My gaze connected with his. “I don’t want to wait. I need you now.”

“You sure, sweetheart?” he asked as he cupped my cheek in his big palm and rubbed the pad of his thumb softly over it.

“Positive,” I told him, placing my hand on top of his where it caressed my cheek.

He searched my eyes as if looking for doubt in them and must have seen none because the next thing I knew he lifted me, and threw me over his shoulder, my backside in the air.

Then as he headed toward his bedroom with one arm holding me in place, he brought his free palm down on my ass.

I gasped at the sting and arousal that it brought on.

“That’s one.”

When we reached his room, he tossed me onto the bed, and I bounced a few times. Biting my bottom lip, I looked at Bodie staring down at me.
